We’re not just about catching fish; we’re about fostering a deep appreciation for nature and sustainable sportfishing.
We guide people back to nature through unforgettable fishing—built on respect for wild waters and sustainable practices.
To contribute to a future where people reconnect with nature through mindful fishing—where wild waters are respected, and every cast brings us closer to balance.
I’m a fishing fanatic who has been practicing the sport for 20+ years now, since the age of 4. For the last 6 years, I’ve mainly been chasing predator fish with lures.
These days, you’ll usually find me exploring wild streams for sea trout, drifting on a belly boat for big perch, or hunting topwater pike on shallow lakes. Lately, I’ve also become a bit obsessed with tracking down big sea trout along the coastline in Djursland.
I moved to Denmark in 2021, which turned out to be an awesome decision. The local waters here offer incredible diversity, and catch-and-release is widely practiced—a key factor behind the exceptional fishing conditions.
Assistant guide & digging specialist 🪱
Sandy is the team’s trusted sighthound, who will happily dig out some worms when the fish don’t feel like biting on our artificial lures. If the temperature is not too cold, you may be blessed by the presence of our assistant guide!
Fishing with us means you also care about minimizing your impact on nature.
We strongly encourage using barbless hooks when lure fishing. If you’re using treble hooks, all barbs should be removed for safety—especially since people often stand close together. Trust us, getting a barbed hook buried in your hand is a fast track to ending the trip and taking an unplanned detour to the doctor.
When jig fishing for perch on lakes that allow barbed hooks, you’re welcome to keep the barbs. But for brown trout or pike, treble hooks should always be barbless or have the barbs crimped flat.
If you’re unsure what’s best, just ask—we’re here to help. And don’t worry: you won’t lose your trophy fish because of barbless hooks. All of Balage’s biggest catches were landed without barbs. 😉
Aarhus is Denmark’s second-largest, and Jutland’s largest city, with dozens of incredible fishing waters around the area!
If you are thinking about coming to Denmark by plane, both Aarhus and Billund have international airports, but Billund Airport stands out with a more extensive selection of direct international flights.

No, certain lakes and streams require you to have permission from the landowner or an additional license, that you should get from a fishing union, through fiskekort.dk.
If we are UL fishing for big rainbows, then you only need a day ticket that can only be bought on location.
You can get informed about fishing waters and necessary licenses on fishingindenmark.info.
